Using a specific tubular subframe, ground clearance was raised by 12 cm to reach nearly 18 cm, effectively transforming the Golf Syncro into a true off-road vehicle. In total, no fewer than 438 specific components were required to create this version.

Produced in only 7,735 units between 1990 and 1991, the Golf Country is now a rare and highly sought-after model.

First registered on May 3rd, 1991, this example shows 188,900 km, representing an average of approximately 7,500 km per year over 25 years.
